Kercher's

The last couple of years we try to get to our local orchard to pick apples at least one time during the picking season.

Pink for a Cause!

The girls decided they wanted to get a strip of pink put in to their hair during the month of October.  I talked with them about what it stood for, where the money went, and what family members and friends have been affected by cancer.  They agreed to earn the money themselves (with help from Grandma W) and then we went to the salon to have it done.

Mosaic @ Knollbrook

Our Sunday School class (Mosaic) decided to do a family outing at the Knollbrook Farm.  It was a great place to unwind and get to know each other a little better outside of church!

Pumpkin Tree

The 1st graders took a "field trip" to the center of Wakarusa to see the unveiling of the Pumpkin Tree in the center of the town.  It was a great time to get outside with friends to enjoy a snack and a short playtime at the town park!

Flu Shots

What is the big celebration?  It's Flu Shot Day, of course!  Any time we can celebrate, we will.  All 3 kids dread this time of year, so we like to make it special by bringing out their special plates and throwing a party.  This year we even celebrated with chips and salsa from Hacienda!

"Knittogether"

Early Fall I was looking for a Wednesday night class at church to attend.  I have been wanting to learn to knit for some time, and found a class called Knit Together.  They claimed you could come even if you had no knitting experience.  Well, I had some experience, but it was not a positive one.  I had attempted a knitting workshop when Noah was a baby, but did not learn one thing while I was there.  Except, that maybe, knitting was NOT for me!

Knit Together is a small group of ladies who get together on Wednesday nights to knit items for the Kenya Baby Orphanage our church sponsors in Africa.  Jodi, a good friend who also takes our family pictures, was able to teach me in one hour what I needed to know to knit!  I was able to finish and send a camo scarf with one of our church teams that went to Kenya in November!  I can't wait to knit some hats and sweaters to send to the babies there!

In the meantime, I have been knitting many scarves, ear warmers, and dishcloths for family and friends.

Girls Only

Since we had previously had Dillan at our house for a few nights over the summer, the Michigan girls kept asking when it would be their turn to come stay over at our house.  There would be 5 girls at the house though, so we decided this would be a good chance for Noah and Dillan to spend some time together in Michigan.  We loaded up the van and set off for Howe where Crystal and I met to make the swap!

The girls had fun playing dress-up, watching movies, and eating by the campfire.  The boys enjoyed running wild outside, a long trip to Lowe's, and eating out without their sisters!

Monday

Matching Set

Hope loves to play dress-up!  If she is not matching outfits with Faith, she is dressing her doll up in matching clothes.

Final Swim of the season...

The day had finally come, the day we had all been dreading.  It was the last day of swimming for the year at Grandpa and Grandma W's.  The cousins all came from Michigan, and we had one final hurrah for the season.  Final jumps off the board were made, races were swam, and great memories were made...

"Free Ride"

What a strange little kitty "Teenager" is, she allowed the girls to take her for a ride in their bike baskets!

Taekwondo

All 3 kids are taking Taekwondo, and are enrolled in their 6 month/4 belt program (White/Orange/Yellow/Camo).  Throughout the program they have a chance to earn "clips" for their belts...reading 10 books or collecting 5 "high fives".  They have a chance to earn a high five coupon for every positive home report paper that is turned in.
